Drain Cleaning
Sausalito's combination of steep hillside homes and floating houseboat communities creates drain cleaning challenges found nowhere else on the Bay. Hillside properties battle gravity-stressed sewer laterals, storm runoff that tests drainage capacity, and salt air that corrodes pipe fittings. Houseboats require marine-grade drain expertise, specialized pump-out knowledge, and fittings designed for constant movement. Sugar Bear Home Services brings the right equipment and 24+ years of Bay Area experience to every Sausalito drain cleaning job.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you clean drains on Sausalito houseboats?
Yes. Sausalito's houseboat community has specialized drain and waste systems that require plumbers familiar with marine-grade fittings, holding tanks, and pump-out connections. We service houseboats at Waldo Point Harbor and surrounding docks with the right equipment and expertise.
How much does drain cleaning cost in Sausalito?
Drain snaking runs $250–$450, hydro-jetting $650–$1,200, main sewer line cleaning $450–$850, and sewer camera inspection $350–$500. Commercial floor drains typically run $450–$650 and grease traps $750–$950. Houseboat drain service may vary based on system configuration. We always provide an upfront quote — no hidden fees, no distance surcharges.
Why do Sausalito hillside homes get drain problems?
Steep terrain means sewer laterals run at extreme grades, which creates turbulence that erodes pipe interiors and dislodges sediment at transition points. Soil movement on hillsides can shift pipe joints out of alignment, and storm runoff can overwhelm undersized drainage systems. Regular camera inspections catch these issues before they cause backups.
Does marine salt air affect drain pipes in Sausalito?
It does. Salt-laden air corrodes exposed metal fittings, cleanout caps, and any outdoor drain components faster than in inland areas. Inside pipes, marine humidity contributes to corrosion in cast iron systems. We recommend annual maintenance for Sausalito homes to stay ahead of corrosion-related issues.

Lawrence was extremely honest and professional. Although we weren't able to install the new thermostat due to the old wiring, he clearly explained the issue instead of pushing a workaround that wouldn't be right. He put the old thermostat back on and even took the time to educate me on how to properly seal the heater for better efficiency. I really appreciated his transparency, patience, and willingness to help. Highly recommend Sugar Bear Home Service.

Lawrence at Sugar Bear gave me several options to repair or replace my existing furnace. We had no heat, and they were able to put us on the schedule within 2 business days. All of the workers were polite, courteous, wore shoe covers, super thorough and knowledgeable. They even cleaned out the ducts. Also, we had to widen the opening for the new furnace and Sugar Bear got the carpentry work done the same week. The new furnace is better than ever. Really, this was a 5 star, white glove service experience. I highly recommend Sugar Bear.

Larry is a very professional and cordial person. He made sure of what was needed to repair our wall heater. He's very thorough and clear to explain everything needed in a way that I could easily understand, since I've no knowledge of heater systems. Thanks so much Larry.

Lawrence and his team of professionals upgraded the electrical panel. They were quick to get the job done but more importantly they worked with me to satisfy PG&E requirements including sawing down two trees! The project took about 6 weeks to complete but they kept me informed throughout. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their electrical panel or troubleshoot an electrical problem.
