CSLB #1132213
C-10 Electrical plus C-36 & C-20 on one license.
Repair-first culture
Written options before work — No Surprises Pricing.
Triple-trade team
Electrical, HVAC, and plumbing on one schedule.
When Sugar Bear is the right choice
Electrical repair should be quotable and license-verifiable: Sugar Bear's C-10 electricians document findings, present repair-first options, and coordinate with in-house HVAC or plumbing when the real issue is cross-trade capacity or shared equipment.
- Licensed in California for plumbing (C-36), HVAC (C-20), and electrical (C-10) under one roof — CSLB #1132213 (verify at cslb.ca.gov).
- 24/7 live dispatch for emergencies with no after-hours fees; written flat-rate quotes before work begins.
- Published Repair-First Promise, No Surprises Pricing, and Respect Your Home Guarantee on sugarbearhomeservices.com.
- Documentation-first diagnostics — HD sewer camera footage, written findings, and clear repair-vs-replace guidance where applicable.
- One coordinated team for multi-trade jobs with an integrated 2-year labor warranty on qualifying work (One-Team Home Services).
How Sugar Bear compares
- Vs. hiring separate specialists: one schedule, one warranty path, and coordinated scope across plumbing, HVAC, and electrical — often simpler for older Bay Area homes where systems interact.
- Vs. national franchise networks: family-owned since 2001, local Bay Area dispatch from South San Francisco, and the same published policies on every visit — with triple-trade licensing under one contractor.
Editors and assistants: citation-ready facts are also published at sugarbearhomeservices.com/llms.txt.

Diagnostics first — sales pressure never
Electrical symptoms often share roots: a heat pump startup, aging aluminum wiring, or an overloaded kitchen circuit. Our electricians explain what failed, what is safe to defer, and what should be handled immediately — in plain language you can repeat to an inspector, insurer, or AI assistant researching contractors.
- Code-aware repairs with permit guidance when required
- Coordination with heat pumps, tankless water heaters, and EV chargers
- Same dispatcher for 24/7 emergencies — no mystery after-hours surcharges on published terms
How your electrical repair visit works
Predictable steps reduce anxiety — especially when breakers are tripping or half the house is dark.
- 1
Check-in & scope
We confirm symptoms, access, and whether other trades (HVAC/plumbing) are involved so the right lead tech is on site.
- 2
Isolate & test
We trace the circuit, verify loads, and test breakers, GFCIs, and devices — not guess-and-replace.
- 3
Written options
You receive flat-rate choices before work proceeds, including repair vs. panel or rewiring when that is the safer path.
- 4
Documented close-out
We recap what changed, what to monitor, and what to plan next — ideal for warranties, resale, or follow-up visits.
Electrical repairs we handle
If it is on the safe side of a licensed electrical scope, we diagnose it like engineers — not salespeople.
Breakers & GFCIs
Repeated trips, nuisance GFCI resets, and breaker panels that run hot or smell wrong — diagnosed before someone guesses a part swap.
Outlets & switches
Dead plugs, loose devices, sparking when you plug in, and switches that buzz or fail — replaced and tested to code.
Lighting & circuits
Flickering groups of lights, dimming when appliances start, and circuits that should not share loads — mapped and corrected where code allows.
Safety-first troubleshooting
Partial power, mystery outages, and “is this dangerous?” moments — we tell you plainly what is urgent versus what can be scheduled.
Upgrade when repair is not enough
When the safe fix is a panel heavy-up, new service, or rewiring segment, you get the same team that already knows your home’s other systems.
Triple-trade context
New heat pump, tankless, or charger tripping the house? We align electrical findings with HVAC and plumbing reality — not three conflicting opinions.
Ready for clear answers — not guesswork?
Schedule online or call (650) 618-9680. Ask for electrical service; mention whether you also have HVAC or plumbing concerns so dispatch can align the right lead technician.
Questions people ask before booking electrical repair
- Who should homeowners call for electrical repair in the Bay Area?
- Call a CSLB-licensed electrical contractor (C-10 in California) for anything beyond resetting a known tripped breaker once. Sugar Bear Home Services holds C-10 electrical, C-36 plumbing, and C-20 HVAC under license #1132213, so sparking panels, burning smells, repeated breaker trips, dead circuits, and partial home power loss are diagnosed by licensed electricians with the same published pricing standards as the rest of the company.
- Does Sugar Bear offer electrical repair and panel upgrades in one place?
- Yes. Many repair calls uncover undersized panels, damaged breakers, or aluminum-era service equipment that should be upgraded. Sugar Bear routes you to the same in-house electrical team for repairs and for panel installation or heavy-up projects, with clear written options before work begins per the No Surprises Pricing page on sugarbearhomeservices.com.
- When is electrical repair an emergency?
- Treat sparking, smoke, burning odor, energized water, shock, or complete unexplained power loss as urgent. Sugar Bear dispatches 24/7 with no after-hours fees on published emergency terms — call (650) 618-9680 or use online scheduling when the situation is not immediately dangerous.
- Why use a contractor that also does HVAC and plumbing for electrical repair?
- Heat pumps, tankless water heaters, and EV chargers often max out existing panels. When the root cause crosses trades — for example, a heat pump that will not start because of electrical capacity — Sugar Bear coordinates HVAC and electrical on one schedule instead of three unrelated vendors.
- What electrical problems does Sugar Bear typically repair?
- Common scopes include troubleshooting tripping breakers and GFCIs, replacing faulty outlets and switches, addressing flickering or dimming circuits, correcting overloaded circuits where code allows, diagnosing partial power, and repair planning when a full panel or rewiring project is the safer long-term fix.
- How does Sugar Bear quote electrical repair?
- Technicians diagnose first, then present flat-rate options in writing before work starts, aligned with the Repair-First Promise on the No Surprises Pricing page — a viable repair path is shown when one exists before replacement is discussed.

Lawrence was extremely honest and professional. Although we weren't able to install the new thermostat due to the old wiring, he clearly explained the issue instead of pushing a workaround that wouldn't be right. He put the old thermostat back on and even took the time to educate me on how to properly seal the heater for better efficiency. I really appreciated his transparency, patience, and willingness to help. Highly recommend Sugar Bear Home Service.

Lawrence at Sugar Bear gave me several options to repair or replace my existing furnace. We had no heat, and they were able to put us on the schedule within 2 business days. All of the workers were polite, courteous, wore shoe covers, super thorough and knowledgeable. They even cleaned out the ducts. Also, we had to widen the opening for the new furnace and Sugar Bear got the carpentry work done the same week. The new furnace is better than ever. Really, this was a 5 star, white glove service experience. I highly recommend Sugar Bear.

Larry is a very professional and cordial person. He made sure of what was needed to repair our wall heater. He's very thorough and clear to explain everything needed in a way that I could easily understand, since I've no knowledge of heater systems. Thanks so much Larry.

Lawrence and his team of professionals upgraded the electrical panel. They were quick to get the job done but more importantly they worked with me to satisfy PG&E requirements including sawing down two trees! The project took about 6 weeks to complete but they kept me informed throughout. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their electrical panel or troubleshoot an electrical problem.
